Which mention to choose when a compound word contains more than one

Question:

Most of the times we can deal with compound nouns in some languages well but we find some scenarios confusing including the one I listed above. As we can see, "fahrersitz" equals "driver's seat", which contains two mentions, 《area》and 《car_part》. We believe 《area》in this case makes more sense since this mention allows more info in the utterance translated into data for the AI to learn. Kindly give us some sort of a rule of thumb to deal with this kind of scenarios. Appreciate your time and help in advance :D
